Believe in the power of music!
Music therapy is the use of music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social requirements of a group or individual. It employs a variety of activities, such as listening to melodies, playing an instrument, drumming, writing songs, and guided imagery. Music therapy is suitable for people of all ages, whether they are geniuses or tone-deaf, struggling with illnesses or totally healthy.
Music therapy traces all aspects of the mind, body, brain and behaviour. Music can provide a distraction for the mind, it can slow the rhythms of the body, and it can alter our mood, which in turn can influence behaviour.
We at SFCT use all aspects of music to help our clients improve and maintain their Physical, Emotional and Spiritual health. We design need-based music sessions for individuals and groups. Music therapy techniques include lyric analysis, songwriting, music and imagery, music relaxation and active music listening. Senior citizens, Palliative care patients and Children benefit greatly from Music Therapy.
We have organized Music Therapy Seminars at Vimhans (Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health Neuro & Allied Sciences) Hospital, New Delhi with Dr Eric Miller of the USA.
