What we strive to do?
The most unmet need of a person today is that of Mental Health and Healing in a confidential and effective manner. Surveys indicate that 10% of our country’s population live with serious mental stress requiring regular counselling and medical intervention.
The Society for Complementary Therapies was therefore established in 2014 to go beyond Counseling and to address this unmet need for promoting mental health and fitness with the help of proven non-invasive Alternative and Complementary Therapies such as Clinical Hypnotherapy, Music Therapy, Art therapy, Foot Reflexology, Bio-guided Neuropathy, Acupressure and Yoga.
SFCT is a recognized public charitable institution and is committed to spreading the beneficial impact of the above therapies in freely imparting Mental Resilience and Healing to underprivileged children, teens and women.
How do we seek to achieve our goals?
The Society runs a Mental Health and Healing Center at Gurgaon where customized therapies and counselling are provided at nominal or nil cost. These services are also available online through audio and video means to both individuals and corporates.
During the pandemic times, the Society has conducted over 30 free zoom webinars on various issues of mental health and disorders. It has also created a Poster and Video series to provide practical education on many difficult topics of mental disorders which are being disseminated through extensive use of social media such as YouTube, Instagram etc.
In the last 6 years, the Society has also invited several international mental health experts from the USA, Sweden and France in the field of Alternative Therapies to India and regularly organizes workshops and certification courses on Mental Health.
This journey towards total Mental well-being and Fitness has, however, just begun.
Who are our Therapists and Counsellors?
The Society was founded and is run by Mrs Meena Gupta, a Counsellor, Therapist and Trainer working in the field of Mental Health for over 40 years.
She has served as Director, Sumaitri (Befrienders International UK) and had helped set up a Help Cell for counselling and palliative care at CanSupport, New Delhi. Her work can be seen on her website.
Mrs Meena Gupta is ably assisted by a team of qualified, experienced and dedicated therapists.

A word from our clients
For: Talk on “Suicide Prevention Campus Campaign Jijivisha“ It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that we bagged the first position in the competition that we had sent our entry for to NIMHANS. This couldn’t have been possible without your critical contribution. According to the feedback that I’ve collected, most students pursuing their bachelors in Psychology felt that the discussion and the role play served as a window to the actual therapy set up, where in most of them could connect and sympathise with an actual patient. Hence, it was an enriching experience for them. However, for the students from other courses, it was slightly difficult to connect the dots. Since the campaign and the session, there’s a significant increase in the sensitivity in our students and active engagement in issues and topics as this. Thank you so much for enlightening us.
Dear Ms. Gupta, Thank you for the time and effort given to educate our students on Stress Management on 9th November 2017. It was a wonderful session and students thoroughly enjoyed the session. The faculty present during the session also benefitted a lot from the deliberations. They liked the innovative concept of integrating music in the training session. The sound effects had a soothing effect on the agitated minds of the youngsters and you very ably educated them about the need to disengage with the outer world and enjoy the realm of inner peace. Our school director Mr. Sunil Agarwal was highly impressed with your session. We would like to keep this momentum going and will invite you regularly for interaction with our students on mutual convenience. Thanking you again.
Dear Ma’am, Thank you very much for conducting an informative and thought provoking workshop on “Music Therapy” on 26th September, 2017 at Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, University of Delhi. It was a splendid experience that exposed the students to field practices. All the students appreciated and got benefited from your views on the subject.
